Hayes' commitment is No. 17 for the Red Raiders.
The Red Raiders picked up commitment No. 17 last night at a position of need. Eastern Hills (Fort Worth, Texas) offensive tackle Cody Hayes made his pledge to the Scarlet and Black.
Hayes has favored Tech for some time and finally pulled the trigger.
The 6-foot-5, 260-pound tackle picked up an offer from the Red Raiders on June 11th at Texas Tech's satellite camp in Lancaster.
Hayes is the third offensive linemen commited to Tech's 2013 class, joining Fort Bend Marshall's Maurice Porter and San Antonio O'Connor's Baylen Brown.
Tech is expected to still add more offensive linemen to this year's class.
