  • Change Kent State wirh Oklahoma and u got it right!

    NCKSSOONER

  • And send Louisville to Orange and OU to Sugar

    NCKSSOONER

  • I see where you are coming from NCKSSOONER. I went with Louisville in the Sugar because from what I looked up, the Sugar Bowl has second pick in the remaining at large bids, with the Fiesta having first pick. Let's see what happens with the MAC Championship first, then the BCS picture might become a bit clearer.

  • Oregon and Florida should be BCS locks. Also, Oklahoma has to get through TCU. They probably will, but it's not a free win.

    I agree

  • Looks like Kent State is out of the picture, what a tough loss.

If OU is able to win against TCU, they will be going to the Sugar. If KSU gets beat, there is already a lot of talk the Fiesta and Sugar will trade OU so the matchups will remain the same.

  • I've been hearing from friends in New Orleans that the Sugar will take OU if we beat TCU.

As of right now before these set of games happen today, it looks like the 3 at large bids will be Florida, Oregon and Oklahoma. If Oklahoma falls, Clemson will be in play.

Scratch the Nebraska loss, I forgot they would be an automatic instead of an at large.

First off Louisville isn't an at large they are an AQ, shouldn't be but they are and they will go to the Orange because of con. ties. Next anybody that's talking about a MAC team going to a BCS game is just talking to hear himself talk. The winner of the SEC and ND will face each other in the NCG, after that only one SEC can go to a BCS game. Stanford and Oregon will go to BCS games from the PAC. Florida St or Georgia Tech will make it to the Orange to play Louisville. That would be two teams from the SEC, two from the PAC, one independent, one from the Big-Least, one from the ACC, one from the B1g and I think you will see two from the Big-12. I think K-St gets a bid even if the don't win tonight.

Anyway that's the way I see it.

The Big East isn't tied to a BCS bowl. The Big East champion can play in either the Sugar, Fiesta or Orange. Kent State had a legitimate shot at entering the BCS this season, they just didn't take care of business. It was guaranteed for Kent State to make it to the BCS since Stanford won the Pac 12. But with No. Illinois pulling off the upset, that won't be happening.

  • I thought that Louisville would go to the Sugar because the Fiesta Bowl has the first pick of remaining schools, with Louisville being one of them. They (the Fiesta Bowl) would select Oregon to play whoever earned the Big 12 BCS berth. The next selection would go to the Sugar Bowl. Since the SEC champion is in the National Championship, the perception would be that the Sugar would select Florida [UF is guaranteed a BCS spot for finishing #3 in the final polls (that is a projection)], since an SEC presence would be welcomed for that bowl game. The Sugar would have to fill another spot for their game. Louisville is in play along with now Oklahoma. It should be interesting how this turns out tomorrow.

  • Other notable projections say that Louisville would go to the Orange, while Oklahoma would play in the Sugar. But that is not a guarantee. They could switch bowls. It all depends on who the Fiesta and Sugar selects.

    cubrown

  • Well I was correct on 8 of the 10 teams in the BCS while selecting 3 of the 5 games BCS games correctly.

  • How shocked are you that No. Illinois got to go to the BCS party?

I thought we'd see someone sneak in that most people feel shouldn't be there, but they are a well coached team. I don't think they'll get blown out by any means.

I'm not too shocked considering how bad Nebraska lost and the other teams in front of them that lost. Not having their head coach will make a difficult job even more difficult.

Yeah that's definitely a blow but I think they'll play pretty well. A win would do wonders for their program.

I mean it was just announced tonight but no one wants to give No. Illinois a chance, but the same was said when Utah beat Alabama in the Sugar Bowl or when Boise St. defeated Oklahoma.

  • I have a feeling though that the Huskies are gonna come out extremely strong against Florida State. Having everyone tell you that you don't belong and they are gonna get destroyed will be def. motivation for No. Illinois.

And both of those teams were undefeated and ran through their competition. Niu is much more similar to the Hawaii team that got prison raped by Georgia, imo
