It's being reported on Twitter (unofficially since there is no source) that Brown has accepted the job, I just haven't seen an official release.

A trusted source with ties to Kentucky has informed me that it is a done deal but won't be official until tomorrow.

One of my Tech sources doesn't think it's a "done deal," but my Kentucky source says otherwise.

I'm confident in my source, so we'll see. Hypothetically, he would still be officially employed by Tech until he is officially employed elsewhere.

We'll see. I wouldn't shut the door on it until at least Thursday.

I don't understand why they would go to Kentucky. I don't see that as a job upgrade

EDIT - I just saw about Brown's ties to Kentucky in another thread.

I just uderstand why he would still be out recruiting for us and doing interviews on our radio shows if he really planned on leaving. I cant see Tubs being ok with this.

It's just like if you put in your two weeks at any job, you work up until you clock out the last day. If you ever want a reference from your past bosses you make sure you leave on good terms.

If I was getting paid by Tech still, I would most certainly be out working for them up til the moment I was clocked out the last time and not getting paid.

Obviously nothing has happened yet, so it's too early to say my source was right or wrong.

FWIW, my source has been quiet since yesterday evening when he said the deal was still going through. And, in case you missed it yesterday, my source is more on the Kentucky end of things, rather than the Texas Tech end - just to get that straight.

From researching the situation, my take is that things were in place (verbally) late Monday, early Tuesday to make it happen. But, since then, other schools and other opportunities have entered the picture. Is that to say it won't happen? No, it's definitely too early to tell.

Look at it like recruiting, if a prospect only has one offer it's a no-brainer on signing day, but if more offers enter the picture late in the process then it complicates the decision-making process.
